Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Permitting Officer to manage and oversee the end-to-end permitting process for infrastructure, construction, or utility projects. The ideal candidate will liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, private landowners, and internal teams to ensure timely approvals, legal compliance, and project efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of permit applications, including preparation, submission, follow-ups, renewals, and closures
- Liaise with government agencies, municipal councils, and regulatory bodies (e.g., OSA, LC, LA) to facilitate permitting and licensing
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., project management, engineering, legal) to align documentation and timelines
- Prepare, track, and update permit logs and databases, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
- Monitor compliance with local and national regulations, zoning codes, and infrastructure guidelines
- Handle complaints or feedback from authorities, ensure timely resolution, and support issue escalation
- Review invoices and quotations related to permit issuance, and support fiscal monitoring and budget forecasting
- Coordinate with private property owners, landlords, and building management for Right-of-Way (ROW) access and approvals
- Prepare periodic reports, status dashboards, and summaries for internal stakeholders and management
- Interpret relevant legislation and provide guidance to project stakeholders on permitting requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or public affairs
- Strong knowledge of local permitting regulations, zoning laws, and licensing procedures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with authorities and stakeholders
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with tracking/reporting tools is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across cross-functional teams

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,300.00 per month
