Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer to support high-volume consumer device manufacturing programmes from New Product Introduction (NPI) through Mass Production (MP).

The role will work closely with Product Design, R&D, Contract Manufacturers (CM/ODM), equipment suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams to develop, qualify, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, fixtures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing programmes throughout the NPI lifecycle, including product development, prototype builds, pilot builds, production ramp-up, and Mass Production.
  • Collaborate with Product Design and R&D teams on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) / Design for Excellence (DFX) to ensure products are designed for manufacturability, quality, cost, and scalability.
  • Develop, implement, and optimise manufacturing processes for high-precision electronic and mechanical assembly.
  • Define specifications and support the design, development, prototyping, fabrication, qualification, and validation of manufacturing fixtures, jigs, tooling, and equipment.
  • Work closely with CM/ODM partners, equipment vendors, and suppliers during factory implementation, process qualification, and production readiness activities.
  • Support factory readiness, line setup, process qualification, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.
  • Drive manufacturing yield improvement, defect reduction, root-cause analysis (RCA), and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Analyse manufacturing workflows, equipment layouts, production capacity, line balancing, and cycle time to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Identify manufacturing risks during NPI and develop effective risk mitigation and contingency plans before Mass Production.
  • Support high-volume production ramp-up and drive continuous manufacturing process improvements throughout Mass Production.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant process documentation, specifications, qualification reports, and manufacturing data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Proven experience supporting NPI and high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Hands-on experience in developing, implementing, and optimising manufacturing processes, fixtures, tooling, and/or equipment.
  • Experience collaborating with Product Design and R&D teams on DFM/DFX.
  • Experience working directly with Contract Manufacturers (CM/ODM), suppliers, equipment vendors, or manufacturing partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in consumer electronics/device manufacturing, such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, laptops, or similar high-volume electronic products.
  • Experience with precision electronic and mechanical assembly.
  • Experience with FATP (Final Assembly, Test & Pack) or system-level assembly.
  • Knowledge of DOE (Design of Experiments), GR&R, tolerance analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience working with Asia-based manufacturing partners and factories.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing programmes across multiple sites or international supply chains.
