Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and supervise farm staff and interns to ensure daily farming and production activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.

2. Plan, organise, and monitor daily production schedules to ensure production targets, harvesting requirements, and delivery commitments are achieved.

3. Oversee all indoor vertical farming operations, including seeding, nursery management, transplanting, crop maintenance, environmental monitoring (temperature, humidity, lighting and CO₂), fertigation monitoring (EC & pH), harvesting, packing, and post-harvest handling to ensure product quality, yield, and consistency.

4. Monitor overall environmental performance including temperature, humidity, lighting, CO₂ levels, fertigation parameters (EC & pH), and other controlled environment agriculture (CEA) requirements to ensure optimum crop growth.

5. Monitor overall farm performance, analyse operational trends, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure corrective actions are implemented through the Assistant Manager and Farm Executive.

6. Accountable for ensuring full compliance with SOPs, Food Safety, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) requirements, OSH standards, and operational performance.

7. Communicate operational updates, production priorities, and key issues effectively to staff and interns, ensuring instructions are clearly understood and properly documented.

8. Maintain accurate production records and reports, including production data, operational logbooks, attendance records, and intern performance documentation.

9. Monitor and evaluate staff and intern performance, provide coaching and guidance, and address performance gaps to improve overall team productivity and capability.

10. Review and approve overtime claims, leave applications, and other staff-related requests in accordance with Company policies and approval authorities.

11. Ensure accurate recording and submission of overtime and attendance information to the Human Resources and Finance departments within the stipulated timelines.

12. Work closely with the Assistant Manager (Farm & OSH) to ensure manpower planning, operational coordination, workplace safety compliance, employee well-being, and statutory OSH requirements are effectively implemented.

13. Conduct regular team meetings to review production performance, discuss challenges, and align the team on priorities and operational objectives.

14. Liaise and collaborate with cross-functional departments, including Procurement, Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, and Management, to ensure smooth production operations and timely fulfilment of business requirements.

15. Monitor operational resources, inventory utilisation and overall production efficiency to ensure uninterrupted operations.

16. Review operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise productivity, product quality, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

17. Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management from time to time in line with business and operational requirements.

Key Performance Expectations / Competencies

  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets and harvesting schedules based on the operational needs.
  • Ensure product quality, minimise crop loss, wastage, and operational errors while maintaining optimal indoor farming conditions.
  • Ensure full compliance with SOPs, Food Safety, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), and OSH requirements while achieving operational performance targets.
  • Demonstrate effective manpower planning and deployment to optimise productivity.
  • Provide timely problem-solving and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop and coach team members and interns to improve competency, accountability, and performance.
  • Maintain accurate and timely operational records and reporting.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and safety-conscious working environment.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,250.00 per month
