About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Accounts Executive (1 year contract) to join our Finance team in the technology sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely month-end closing, and compliance with local statutory requirements. This role requires strong hands-on experience in partial sets in accounting focusing on general ledger management, account reconciliations, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and supporting a growing business.
This is a one-year contract position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping and general ledger activities.
- Monitor bank balances and coordinate funding requests to support business operations.
- Prepare and post accounting entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments where required.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including preparation of account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Review Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper expense classification.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with applicable Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and company policies.
- Support external audit processes by liaising with auditors, responding to queries, and preparing relevant supporting documents during audit fieldwork.
- Work closely with senior finance manager and tax agents on corporate tax matters and withholding tax requirements.
- Support corporate secretarial matters by preparing and coordinating documents through DocuSign.
- Liaise with bankers to ensure bank account information and authorised signatories remain updated.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the US Finance team, with occasional night meetings required to support cross-time-zone communication.
- Perform other ad hoc accounting-related duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline
- 2 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience, with hands-on experience in partial sets in accounting focusing on general ledger functions.
- Strong understanding of basic FRS requirements, corporate taxation, and local statutory compliance.
- Good knowledge of month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite or ZIP is advantageous.
- Prior experience working with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, and banking partners is preferred.
- Experience in a technology or fast-growing business environment will be an advantage.
