Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Engineer, Equipment to provide hands-on equipment engineering support for photonic manufacturing. The role will be responsible for equipment installation, qualification, troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance improvement across photonic bonding, optical/electrical test, and burn-in processes. The Senior Engineer will work closely with process engineering, manufacturing, quality, and equipment suppliers to ensure equipment meets production, reliability, and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and acceptance activities according to defined specifications and requirements.
- Support equipment operation and performance for photonic assembly, bonding, optical/electrical test, and burn-in processes.
- Monitor equipment performance including OEE, uptime, MTBF, MTTR, throughput/UPH, and utilization, and implement improvement actions within assigned equipment areas.
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and recurring issues using structured root-cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Coordinate with equipment OEMs and suppliers on technical issues, service activities, equipment modifications, FAT/SAT, and qualification support.
- Perform and maintain equipment preventive maintenance, calibration, spare-parts, EHS, documentation, and change-control activities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior equipment engineers and technicians, and work with manufacturing, process engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
Core Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Optical/Photonics Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3–8+ years of relevant equipment engineering experience in semiconductor, photonics, optoelectronics, or advanced electronics manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with precision manufacturing equipment, preferably in photonic assembly/bonding, optical/electrical test, burn-in, die attach, flip-chip, or precision placement, with knowledge of equipment qualification, Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gauge R&R, SPC, FMEA, and reliability improvement.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with experience working with OEMs/suppliers, equipment qualification, FAT/SAT, preventive maintenance, and production support. Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with willingness to travel as required.
