Business Development Manager – Power & Energy Solutions

About the Role
We are seeking a driven and strategic Business Development Manager to lead project sales and market expansion across Malaysia. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying high-value opportunities, securing large-scale turnkey contracts, and building strategic partnerships within critical growth sectors including Data Centers, Oil & Gas, and Power Utilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Expansion: Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas, Data Center, and Energy sectors across Malaysia.
- Regional & Utility Focus: Drive project sales activities and establish solid relationships with utility companies (e.g., SESB, SEB) and private-sector accounts in Sabah and Sarawak.
- Full Sales Lifecycle: Manage end-to-end sales processes, from lead generation and client pitching to commercial negotiation and project handover.
- Turnkey Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineering, technical, and commercial teams to deliver comprehensive turnkey project proposals and tenders.
- Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary interface for key clients, ensuring strong account retention, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Industry Background: Minimum 3–10 years of proven B2B sales or business development experience within the electrical, power distribution, energy, or industrial automation sectors.
- Market Exposure: Solid track record in securing industrial or infrastructure projects in Malaysia. Prior experience handling private or utility projects in East Malaysia (Sabah/Sarawak) is a significant advantage.
- Project Expertise: Familiarity with turnkey project delivery, electrical equipment tenders, and vendor management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin to interface with diverse stakeholders and regional teams.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, commercially astute, capable of working independently, and adaptable to travel when required.
