Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Assistant Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved efficiently. The successful candidate will lead the production team, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain a safe and productive working environment.

Key Responsibilities
· Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities to achieve production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
· Ensure production output meets quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
· Lead, coach, and supervise production supervisors and operators to achieve operational excellence.
· Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, downtime, and labour productivity.
· Work closely with the Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Purchasing, and Marketing departments to ensure smooth production operations.
· Investigate production issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing processes.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Monitor production costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
· Prepare production reports and management reports.
· Participate in audits, inspections, customer visits, and process improvement projects as required.
· Support new product / raw material introductions and process validation activities.
Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience with supervisory or team leadership experience (e.g. Production Executive).
· Strong knowledge of production planning, lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, KPIs, OEE and continuous improvement practices.
· Good understanding of ISO quality management systems and workplace safety requirements.
· Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
· Able to work independently and meet production deadlines.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
· Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is an added advantage for communicating with a multilingual workforce.
