Job Description
Responsibilities
· Lead, supervise, and mentor the finance team to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
· Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the Board to support decision-making.
· Develop financial strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the institution’s objectives.
· Oversee preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
· Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Financial Operations Oversight
· Ensure proper management and accuracy of all daily financial transactions, including payments, receipts, invoices, petty cash, and journal entries.
· Oversee student financial transactions including tuition fee collections, sponsorships, scholarships, loans, and financial assistance schemes.
· Ensure effective accounts payable and receivable management, vendor relations, and debt recovery.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
· Ensure timely preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and the Board.
· Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, LHDN, SST, etc.) and local accounting standards.
· Liaise with regulators, government agencies, auditors, and tax agents on financial matters.
· Ensure adherence to institutional financial policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
Audit, Risk Management & Internal Control
· Oversee annual external audits and ensure audit findings are resolved effectively.
· Implement and monitor strong internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
· Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
· Oversee cash flow planning and management to ensure adequate liquidity.
· Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements.
· Manage institutional reserves, trust funds, and investments in line with policies.
Procurement & Asset Management
· Provide oversight on procurement processes and ensure compliance with policies.
· Approve major purchases and contracts in alignment with financial policies.
· Ensure accurate maintenance of the fixed asset register and safeguard institutional assets.
Continuous Improvement & Policy Development
· Review, enhance, and implement financial systems, processes, and reporting tools.
· Ensure finance staff comply with internal policies and best practices.
· Promote a culture of financial accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
