Responsibilities

Financial Operations

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier invoices and customer billings, with timely entries.
• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger to keep records current and auditable.
• Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure cash balances match reported transactions.
• Manage petty cash and expense claims following company policy and documentation standards.

Reporting & Compliance

• Support month-end and quarter-end closing tasks, producing basic financial summaries for management review.
• Prepare tax-related records and assist in SST documentation and filings as required by the finance lead.
• Maintain clear supporting documentation to meet audit and compliance requirements.
• Help track revenue by client or product to improve internal reporting accuracy.

Client & POS Support

• Work with the customer service and sales teams to resolve billing queries and invoice disputes quickly and professionally.
• Reconcile POS transaction reports against payments and invoices to spot discrepancies and correct them.
• Onboard new merchant accounts with billing setup and educate clients on invoicing schedules and payment methods.
• Collaborate with product and operations to suggest improvements to billing workflows.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably with exposure to technology or retail clients.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations in a small to medium company.
• Familiarity with month-end closing routines and basic financial reporting is required.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Proven use of accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or MYOB, and willingness to learn our POS reporting tools.
• Strong Excel skills for data checks, simple analysis, and reconciliations.
• Understanding of invoicing, payment reconciliation, and basic tax concepts relevant to Malaysia, such as SST recording.
• Ability to work with CSV exports, bank statements, and POS transaction logs for reconciliation tasks.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Communicate clearly and politely with internal teams and merchant clients to resolve billing matters.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in numeric work.
• Show initiative to improve processes and keep tasks organised under regular month-end timelines.
