Job Purposes

• The Assistant HR Manager plays a key role in supporting the Group's employee and industrial relations agenda across multiple business units and markets.
• The role is responsible for providing practical HR advisory support to management and employees, managing employee relations matters, supporting industrial relations cases, strengthening HR policies and practices, and ensuring consistent application of Group HR standards.
• The position acts as a trusted HR partner to business leaders, helping the organisation maintain a positive, productive and compliant employee environment while balancing employee needs with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Industrial Relations & Employee Relations

• Act as a key HR point of contact for employee and industrial relations matters across the Group.
• Provide guidance to management on employee relations issues, including misconduct, grievances, disciplinary matters, performance concerns and workplace conflicts.
• Manage and support disciplinary processes, investigations, show-cause processes, domestic inquiries and other employee-related cases where applicable.
• Conduct fact-finding and investigation into employee complaints, grievances and workplace concerns.
• Ensure proper documentation, case management and follow-up of employee relations cases.
• Identify recurring employee relations issues and recommend preventive actions.
• Support management in handling sensitive and high-impact employee matters professionally and consistently.
• Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation between employees and management.
• Monitor employee relations trends and provide insights to Group HR leadership.

HR Advisory & Business Partnering

• Partner with business leaders and managers to provide practical HR advice on people-related matters.
• Support managers in interpreting and applying Group HR policies, procedures and employment practices.
• Provide guidance on performance management, attendance, conduct, employee development and workplace behaviour.
• Challenge and advise management where HR risks or employee relations concerns are identified.
• Support business leaders in making people decisions that are fair, consistent and aligned with business objectives.
• Build strong working relationships with management and employees across different business units.

HR Policy & Governance

• Support the development, review and implementation of Group HR policies, procedures and employee guidelines.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies across business units while taking into consideration local employment requirements.
• Review existing HR practices and identify opportunities to improve consistency, effectiveness and employee experience.
• Maintain appropriate HR documentation, templates, guidelines and case records.
• Support periodic HR audits and compliance reviews.
• Assist in ensuring HR practices are aligned with applicable employment and industrial relations legislation.

Employee Engagement & Workplace Culture

• Support initiatives designed to strengthen employee engagement, communication and workplace culture.
• Analyse employee feedback, grievances, exit feedback and other people data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support employee communication initiatives relating to HR policies, organisational changes and people programmes.
• Partner with business leaders to address employee morale, engagement and workplace relationship issues.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive and professional workplace environment.

Key Requirements

• At least 5 years of HR experience, with strong hands-on exposure in Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR).
• Strong experience in handling employee grievances, disciplinary cases, misconduct, investigations and conflict resolution.
• Good knowledge of employment legislation, HR policies and industrial relations practices across relevant markets.
• Experience advising managers and business leaders on employee-related matters and HR risk.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential HR cases independently and professionally.
• Strong understanding of performance management, PIP, attendance, conduct and workplace behavioural issues.
• Comfortable working in a Group / regional environment, supporting multiple business units, locations or countries.
• High level of integrity, maturity, confidentiality and professional judgement.
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related discipline.
• Experience with HRIS, HR reporting and employee case management systems is an advantage.
