Job Summary

Looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of construction and precast-related projects from tender stage through to completion.

The role will oversee both pre-contract and post-contract Quantity Surveying functions, including tender preparation, cost estimation, contract administration, project cost control, claims, variations, and final accounts. The successful candidate should have strong commercial and contractual knowledge and be well-versed in precast manufacturing and its related commercial requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage both pre-contract and post-contract Quantity Surveying functions.
• Review tender and contract documents, prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and manage progress claims, variation orders (VO), extension of time (EOT) claims, and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and cash flow forecasts.
• Administer subcontractor claims, payments, variations, and final accounts.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations and claims to ensure commercial and contractual compliance.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams on contractual, commercial, and cost-related matters.
• Identify and manage contractual and commercial risks throughout project execution.
• Monitor costs associated with precast manufacturing, materials, production, transportation, installation, and related project activities.
• Prepare commercial reports and provide cost and contractual updates to management.
• Support management and project teams on contract negotiations and commercial matters.
• Maintain proper documentation and records relating to contracts, claims, variations, costs, and final accounts.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant Quantity Surveying experience in the construction industry.
• Strong experience in both pre-contract and post-contract Quantity Surveying and contract administration.
• Well-versed in precast manufacturing processes, materials, production, and related commercial considerations.
• Experience in precast, civil engineering, infrastructure, or building construction projects.
• Good understanding of project costing, variations, claims, EOT, subcontract administration, and final accounts.
• Familiarity with Singapore construction contracts and practices will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and commercial management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
• Proficient in relevant Quantity Surveying and cost management software.
