Join our Product Development - Home & Living team as a central leader, you will drive the journey of high-performance products from initial concept to global shelves. Partnering strategically with our Merchandising and Quality Assurance teams, you will oversee the development cycle to ensure our entire range consistently meets rigorous technical and quality standards.

From driving new product innovations to overseeing the preparation of essential sales materials, you will be the key catalyst for the excellence of products sold across thousands of Lidl and Kaufland stores globally. This role is based in our brand-new, premium, eco-friendly office at Airside, Kai Tak .

The objectives of the position are to:

• Manage the product development team and overall design and product development process from initial concept through to sample creation in accordance with strategic planning timelines

• Establish a design and development strategy for the product category

• Innovate, inspire and grow the product category according to business targets

• Maximize work efficiencies

  
  

What you'll do

• Drive department turnover with Merchandising team through your design and development strategy, bringing in seasonal updates, new themes and new products

• Research into new trends, innovations and new product ideas

• Manage the design and development timelines and workflow to ensure critical deadlines are maintained and adhered to

• Responsible for moodboard, artwork card creation, techpacks and product design briefings to both internal and external designers including 3D digital images/ CGI

• Develop and select appropriate fabrics and trims in collaboration with Fabric team

• Collaborate with merchandising and Quality to ensure product design and fitting is aligned for sample launch

• Present seasonal trend and product presentations to stakeholders

What you'll need

• Degree in product design, graphics design or related discipline

• Approximately 8 years of product development or design related experience

• Experience in European retail market

• Good eye for trend, a strong fashion sense, design talent and a creative mind

• Cost benefit mindset

• Team player with an interest to collaborate in a fast paced workplace

• Must be independent, proactive and committed to working in a dynamic environment

• Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills

• Excellent English language skills, additional languages would be beneficial, German would be an advantage

• Willing to travel as required

• Experience in Furniture & Home Textile design/product development
