About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and responsible Insurance Assistant Manager to support the Insurance Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Insurance Department and supervising a small team of insurance staff. The role covers General Insurance, insurance sales, policy administration, renewals, claims, customer service and business development. The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge and practical experience in General Insurance, with experience in Motor Insurance / Automotive Insurance being highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Insurance Operations
- Assist the Insurance Manager in managing the daily operations of the Insurance Department.
- Handle and monitor General Insurance matters, including Motor, Commercial / Business, Property / Fire, Personal Accident, Travel and other insurance products.
- Ensure quotations, policy issuance, renewals, endorsements and other insurance documentation are processed accurately and on time.
- Monitor pending cases and follow up with customers, insurance companies and other relevant parties.
- Maintain accurate insurance records using insurance company portals, internal CRM / ERP systems and Google Sheets.
- Identify operational issues and recommend improvements to improve efficiency and service quality.
2. Insurance Sales & Business Development
- Support the Insurance Manager in achieving the department's sales and revenue targets.
- Monitor insurance sales performance, renewal opportunities and potential customers.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and renewals.
- Identify opportunities to increase insurance sales and cross-sell suitable General Insurance products.
- Work closely with the Sales, Service and other internal departments to generate insurance opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, insurance products and competitor activities.
3. Claims & Customer Service
- Coordinate and monitor insurance claims, particularly Motor Insurance claims.
- Liaise with customers, insurance companies, adjusters, workshops, brokers and other relevant parties.
- Ensure claim documents are complete and submitted within the required timeframe.
- Follow up on outstanding and delayed claims.
- Assist customers with insurance and claim-related enquiries.
- Handle customer complaints and escalate complicated matters to the Insurance Manager when required.
4. Insurance Partner Management
- Maintain good working relationships with insurance companies, brokers, agents and underwriters.
- Liaise with insurers and business partners regarding quotations, policy terms, premiums, endorsements, renewals and claims.
- Obtain and compare quotations from insurance providers where required.
- Assist in negotiating suitable rates, terms and arrangements with insurance partners, subject to Company approval.
- Monitor the service level and performance of insurance partners.
- Keep updated on insurance products, market practices and changes in insurance requirements.
5. Team Management
- Supervise and guide the Insurance Specialist and Insurance Assistants in their daily work.
- Allocate duties and monitor the team's workload and productivity.
- Monitor staff performance and work quality.
- Provide coaching and guidance on insurance products, procedures, claims handling and customer service.
- Ensure team members follow Company policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Assist the Insurance Manager in staff training, development and manpower planning.
Job Requirements
- Minimum SPM qualification. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in General Insurance. Candidates with 5 years or more of relevant experience will be an added advantage.
- Previous experience as an Senior Insurance Executive, Assistant Manager or similar position is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of General Insurance products and processes is required.
- Experience in Motor Insurance / Automotive Insurance will be highly advantageous.
- Insurance-related qualifications such as PCEIA, CEILI, TBE or equivalent will be an added advantage, but are not mandatory.
- Good knowledge of insurance company portals, CRM / ERP systems and Google Sheets.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Good leadership and people management skills.
- Responsible, organised, detail-oriented and able to work independently.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
