Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Semenyih. The Mechanical Engineer will design and develop truck bodies and industrial vehicle components, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing CAD designs, performing mechanical calculations, selecting materials, and collaborating with production teams to support efficient manufacturing processes. The role also involves participating in research and development activities to improve existing products, developing new solutions for specialized equipment, and resolving engineering issues on the shop floor. The Mechanical Engineer will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within specification.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to apply core engineering principles to truck body and industrial vehicle design.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies.
- Experience in Project Management, including planning tasks, coordinating with stakeholders, and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
- Capability in Research and Development (R&D) to evaluate new materials, technologies, and design approaches for product improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, fabrication, and welding for heavy-duty vehicle structures is an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety regulations for industrial vehicles and truck bodies.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with production, quality, and procurement teams on-site.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to be hands-on in a workshop and industrial environment.
