About the role

We are looking for an experienced and competent BO Chargeman (11kV) cum Electrical Engineer to join our Facilities team. The successful candidate will serve as the company's Resident Competent Person and take responsibility for the safe, reliable and compliant operation of our 11kV electrical infrastructure, while supporting Solar PV and critical manufacturing facilities systems.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the factory's registered Resident BO Chargeman and ensure compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements.
• Operate, monitor and perform routine switching for the 11kV High Tension (HT) substation, transformers and Main Switchboards (MSB).
• Manage and monitor the company's 817.92 kWp Grid-Connected Solar PV System, including inverter networks, solar array strings and DC/AC distribution systems.
• Perform and oversee electrical safety and protection activities, including anti-islanding interlocking tests and grid-synchronisation protection.
• Liaise with TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), SEDA, Visiting Engineers and relevant authorities on regulatory and technical matters.
• Manage preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and reliability of electrical and facilities systems.
• Manage and optimise HVAC/MVAC systems, including VRV systems and mechanical ventilation.
• Manage preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of pumps and motor systems.
• Ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance of fire protection and life safety systems, including fire pumps, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors and FM200.
• Monitor power quality, power factor and overall electrical system performance.

About you

• MUST possess a valid and active Chargeman BO (11kV) Certificate of Competency issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred.
• 5–8 years of facilities engineering experience, preferably within a heavy manufacturing or electronics manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Grid-Connected Solar PV (GCPV) systems is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of 11kV HT substations, transformers, switchboards and electrical distribution systems.
• Able to read and interpret Single Line Diagrams (SLD), electrical schematics and technical fault logs.
• Familiar with the Electricity Supply Act 1990, Electricity Regulations 1994 and applicable TNB/ST requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, root cause analysis and project management capabilities.
• Able to coordinate effectively with contractors, suppliers and regulatory authorities.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
