Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Description

  • Prepare and compound chemotherapy medications, including dilution and reconstitution, using Laminar Airflow HEPA Filter Isolators in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist with the dispensing of medications under appropriate supervision, ensuring compliance with clinic SOPs and medication safety requirements.
  • Handle, store and dispose of chemotherapy agents, controlled drugs and other medications safely and appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records relating to patient treatment and medication dispensing.
  • Oversee medication stock levels, including replenishment, ordering, expiry-date monitoring and inventory control.
  • Contribute to medication safety initiatives and provide patients with basic medication-related instructions or counselling within the scope of the role.
  • Ensure pharmacy and medication preparation areas are maintained to the required standards of cleanliness, safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Undertake other pharmacy-related or operational responsibilities

Requirements

  • Diploma in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, or another relevant recognised qualification.
  • Prior experience in oncology, chemotherapy compounding or an ambulatory healthcare setting would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with safe medication handling, storage procedures and pharmaceutical inventory management.
  • Careful and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to patient safety.
  • Able to organise work effectively and perform accurately in a busy clinical environment.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am–5.30 pm, and alternate Saturdays, 8.30 am–1.00 pm
