Position Summary
The Loss Prevention Executive supports the daily safety, security and loss prevention operations of the hotel. The role is responsible for protecting guests, associates, hotel assets and property while maintaining a safe and secure environment.
The position conducts patrols, monitors security systems, responds to incidents and emergencies, prepares reports and supports investigations while maintaining professional and discreet service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesLoss Prevention & Security Operations
- Conduct regular patrols of guest areas, back-of-house areas, entrances, loading bays, car parks and other designated locations.
- Monitor CCTV, access control, key control and other security systems.
- Identify and report suspicious activities, safety hazards and security concerns.
- Maintain accurate daily Loss Prevention logs and incident records.
- Control access to restricted and back-of-house areas in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Support security arrangements for VIPs, events and other hotel activities when required.
- Conduct checks on associates, contractors and visitors in accordance with hotel policies.
Incident & Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to accidents, medical emergencies, fire alarms, disturbances and other incidents.
- Assist with investigations involving theft, loss, damage, misconduct and other security-related matters.
- Review CCTV footage and assist in gathering relevant information and evidence.
- Prepare clear and accurate incident and investigation reports.
- Support emergency evacuations, fire drills and other emergency-response activities.
- Escalate significant incidents immediately to the Loss Prevention Manager or Assistant Manager.
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct routine safety and security inspections throughout the hotel.
- Identify potential hazards and follow up with relevant departments for corrective action.
- Check emergency exits, fire escape routes and other critical areas to ensure they remain accessible.
- Support compliance with hotel safety, security and fire life safety procedures.
- Participate in internal inspections, audits and emergency exercises.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling guest, associate and hotel information.
Guest & Associate Support
- Assist guests and associates professionally during security-related situations.
- Handle lost and found or lost-property matters in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Food & Beverage and other departments.
- Maintain a professional, approachable and discreet presence throughout the hotel.
- Ensure security procedures are carried out without compromising the guest experience.
Operational & Team Support
- Attend daily briefings and remain updated on VIPs, hotel events and operational activities.
- Support Loss Prevention Officers and provide guidance when required.
- Assist with training and safety awareness activities for hotel associates.
- Carry out assignments and investigations directed by Loss Prevention management.
- Ensure all security equipment is properly maintained and report any defects promptly.
- Perform other Loss Prevention duties as required by hotel operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Certificate in Security Management, Hospitality, Occupational Safety or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant security, Loss Prevention or hospitality experience.
- Previous hotel experience is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of CCTV systems, emergency procedures and incident reporting.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to prepare clear and factual reports.
- Physically fit and able to perform patrol duties.
- Able to remain calm and professional during emergencies and challenging situations.
- Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage.
