As an Assistant Manager, Technical, you will lead the technical coordination and design management aspects of a technically complex semiconductor / high-tech facility, working closely with consultants, specialist contractors and internal project teams to ensure effective design integration and construction delivery.
- Lead and manage a team of Design / Coordination Engineers in coordinating design drawings across Civil, Structural, Architectural, M&E and specialist systems.
- Ensure design coordination complies with authority regulations, project specifications and client requirements.
- Act as a key liaison between clients, consultants, contractors, specialist subcontractors and relevant authorities on design and technical matters.
- Guide the team in preparing and coordinating shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, technical proposals and other construction submissions.
- Coordinate and track technical and authority submissions to ensure timely review, approval and closure of comments.
- Lead the resolution of design, constructability and multidisciplinary interface issues, particularly between Architectural, Structural, M&E and specialist systems.
- Review and address technical queries by raising and tracking RFIs and RFAs with consultants, clients and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify potential design clashes and construction risks early and work with the relevant teams to develop practical solutions.
- Initiate and evaluate value engineering proposals to enhance cost-effectiveness, constructability, safety, quality and project delivery.
- Drive effective design coordination to minimise rework, delays and construction interface issues in a fast-paced project environment.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering with at least 6 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering consultancy.
- Experience in semiconductor, high-tech, data centre, industrial or advanced manufacturing projects is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore building codes, authority regulations and construction methodologies.
- Good understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination, particularly Architectural, Structural and M&E interfaces.
- Experience in technical submissions, design reviews and resolving complex construction-related technical issues.
- Independent, analytical and proactive, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Candidates with DfSP certification will have an added advantage.
