Optopax is a Silicon Valley–based design and OEM manufacturing company delivering integrated AI imaging solutions—from concept through production. We specialize in AI-enabled camera modules, precision optics spanning UV to LWIR, and custom embedded systems for robotics, industrial vision, submersible imaging, biomedical devices, AR/VR, and optical computing.

We are a small, highly technical team headquartered in San Jose, CA, with a global team, building real hardware that ships.


About the Role

This role will provide end-to-end program management for Optopax’s optical modules, camera systems, and advanced imaging products. You’ll own program delivery from concept to mass production and build a strong supplier ecosystem across optics, imaging, injection molding, and manufacturing technologies.


What You’ll Do


Program Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead cross-functional programs covering optical modules, imaging systems, and related components from early design through MP.
  • Drive schedule creation, resource alignment, milestone tracking, and risk mitigation across internal teams and suppliers.
  • Set up operational processes for prototype builds, validation phases, and mass-production readiness.
  • Ensure program documentation is complete, current, and auditable (SOWs, RFQs, schedules, qualification reports, change logs).
  • Manage cost, Capex requests, BOM readiness, and program-level financial tracking.  Assist the business teams develop pricing and proposals for different programs and products.


Quality, Validation & Manufacturing Interface

  • Manage issue triage across image quality, mechanical tolerances, injection molding, and system performance.
  • Coordinate design reviews, test plans, DOE activities, and data-driven decision making.
  • Support root-cause analysis and drive closure for supplier- or manufacturing-related issues.
  • Oversee ramp readiness, yield improvement activities, and manufacturing process stabilization.


Cross-Functional Partnering

  • Work closely with hardware engineering, optics design, SQE, manufacturing, PMO, procurement, and leadership teams.
  • Align goals, surface risks early, and maintain transparency with stakeholders.
  • Act as primary point of contact for program updates, supplier escalations, and cross-team issue resolution.


What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 7–12+ years of experience in Program/Technical Program Management within optics, imaging, camera modules, sensors, or related hardware domains.
  • Strong background working with vendors on lens design, injection molding, image quality, and system-level validation.
  • Proven ability to take products from concept to MP across multiple sites/regions.
  • Experience with PPAP, DFM/DFX, reliability testing, yield/ramp management, and NPI process flows.
  • Skilled in supplier sourcing, AVL/AQP evaluations, and commercial/technical RFQ execution.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management.


Nice-to-Have

  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred to facilitate effective communication with China and Taiwan suppliers
  • Experience with automotive, AR/VR, consumer imaging, or IoT optical systems.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IATF standards.
  • Data analysis experience (MTF, DOE, image quality metrics, etc.).
  • Background in any technical domain 


Location & Travel

  • WFH. Expected travel to supplier sites (Asia) for audits, builds, and engineering reviews.
  • Customer visits and other international travel may be required occasionally.
