Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain electrical installations, including 11kV/high-voltage systems, switchgear, transformers, MCC panels, distribution boards and related equipment.
• Carry out routine inspection, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure electrical systems remain safe, reliable and operational.
• Conduct electrical switching, isolation and restoration activities in accordance with approved procedures and safety requirements.
• Monitor electrical parameters, power consumption and equipment condition, and report any abnormalities or potential risks.
• Attend to electrical breakdowns, power interruptions and other emergencies, including standby/on-call duties when required.
• Ensure all electrical works and operations are carried out in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements, relevant regulations, safety procedures and site requirements.
• Maintain electrical operation logs, maintenance records, inspection reports and other statutory/site documentation.
• Coordinate and supervise electrical contractors, vendors and service providers during maintenance, testing, shutdown and repair works.
• Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure assigned work orders are completed within the required timeline.
• Work closely with Facilities Managers, Engineers and Technicians to support smooth day-to-day building operations.
• Support the maintenance and operation of other M&E/building services where required, including standby generators, UPS, HVAC, fire protection systems and building systems.
• Assist in emergency response, incident investigation and corrective action activities.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety standards are maintained within electrical rooms, substations and plant rooms.
• Report major electrical defects, operational risks and safety concerns to the Facilities Manager/Management.
• Perform any other duties related to facilities and electrical operations as assigned by the Management.

Job Requirements

• Possess a valid BO Chargeman Competency Certificate (11kV/33kV) issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical operation, maintenance or building/facilities management.
• Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining high-voltage electrical systems, switchgear, transformers and electrical distribution systems.
• Good knowledge of electrical safety, switching procedures, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience in building facilities management, commercial buildings, industrial facilities or similar environments is an advantage.
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings, single-line diagrams and technical documentation.
• Good knowledge of Suruhanjaya Tenaga requirements and electrical safety practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with clients, contractors, technicians and management.
• Able to work independently, respond effectively to breakdowns and handle emergency situations.
• Computer literate and able to prepare basic reports and maintenance records.
• Willing to work on standby, overtime or on-call basis, depending on site requirements.
• Responsible, safety-conscious, disciplined and able to work as part of a facilities management team.
• Possession of a valid driving licence is an added advantage.

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
