About the Role
We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to support product research and laboratory operations for a personal care product research laboratory in Singapore. The role involves preparing samples, running routine tests, maintaining lab equipment and inventory, recording data, and supporting consumer study activities when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, label, organise and submit product samples and raw materials for testing.
Support sample storage, tracking and stability testing activities.
Assist with batch making, including pre-weighing, raw material handling, equipment set-up, operation and shutdown.
Carry out routine laboratory tests such as pH, viscosity, auto-titration, colour measurement, moisture analysis, water activity, specific gravity and conductivity.
Support chemical testing using laboratory instruments such as HPLC, gas chromatography and auto-titrator, where trained.
Record and submit test data accurately using approved laboratory systems.
Maintain lab inventory, samples, consumables, chemicals and reagents.
Support equipment calibration, maintenance, routine checks and lab housekeeping.
Follow all safety, quality and laboratory procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
Assist with consumer study preparation, sample collection and data handling when required.
Requirements
NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Pharmaceutical Science, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Food Science, Materials Science or a related discipline.
Laboratory experience in R&D, quality control, analytical testing, product testing or chemical laboratory operations will be advantageous.
Able to follow written procedures, handle samples carefully and record data accurately.
Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical handling and good housekeeping practices.
Able to work independently and as part of a team in an on-site laboratory environment.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
