Job Summary
Responsible for supervising and coordinating on-site Mechanical and ACMV (Air Conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation) works for data center projects. The role will work closely with the Mechanical Engineer (ME), contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure smooth project execution, timely completion of works, and compliance with quality and safety requirements.
This role will monitor daily site activities, drive construction progress, resolve site issues, and ensure all ACMV installations are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise daily ACMV and mechanical installation activities on-site.
- Coordinate and monitor subcontractors' work to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Work closely with the Mechanical Engineer (ME) to execute project activities effectively.
- Ensure all works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Monitor site progress and ensure project milestones are achieved.
2. Progress Monitoring
- Drive contractors and subcontractors to meet project schedules and targets.
- Track site progress and identify potential delays or risks.
- Coordinate recovery plans and corrective actions to mitigate project delays.
- Provide regular progress updates to the Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager.
3. ACMV Systems Supervision
- Supervise installation of ACMV systems including:
- Chilled Water Systems
- CRAH Units
- CRAC Units
- Precision Cooling Systems
- DX Systems
- Mechanical Ventilation Systems
- Exhaust and Fresh Air Systems
- Ducting and Piping Works
- Ensure all ACMV installations meet design and operational requirements for data center facilities.
4. Safety Compliance
- Ensure all contractors comply with site safety regulations and permit-to-work requirements.
- Conduct routine site inspections to identify unsafe conditions.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and enforce good housekeeping practices.
- Ensure compliance with PMX Malaysia's health, safety, and environmental standards.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports, progress records, and inspection reports.
- Record site issues, non-conformance matters, and corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Support documentation for testing, commissioning, and project handover.
7. Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with engineers, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Attend coordination meetings and provide updates on site activities.
- Escalate technical and operational issues to the Mechanical Engineer when necessary.
8. Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day tasks assigned by the Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager, Construction Manager, or Head of Department (HOD).
- Support project execution, inspections, audits, and commissioning activities as required.
- Carry out any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in ACMV, HVAC, or Mechanical site supervision.
- Experience in data center, mission-critical facilities, industrial, or commercial construction projects is highly preferred.
- Experience supervising ACMV installation and commissioning works.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of ACMV and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Good understanding of construction sequences and site coordination.
- Ability to monitor project schedules and drive progress.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Good problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
