Responsibilities

Job Scope

  • Manage and monitor project cost, quantity measurement and contractual matters throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates and tender documents.
  • Prepare, evaluate and negotiate quotations, tenders and subcontractor proposals.
  • Review and certify contractors’ and subcontractors’ progress claims based on actual work completed.
  • Prepare, evaluate and monitor Variation Orders (VO), additional works and changes to the project scope.
  • Conduct site measurements and verify quantities, work progress and materials used.
  • Monitor project expenditure and ensure costs are maintained within the approved budget.
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow projections, payment schedules and other commercial reports.
  • Assist in contract administration, including reviewing contract documents, specifications, terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and manage Final Accounts, including reconciliation of project costs and variations.
  • Liaise with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Teams, contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Identify potential cost risks, contractual issues and opportunities for cost savings throughout the project.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of measurements, valuations, contracts, claims, variations and project costs.
  • Perform other Quantity Surveying and commercial duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in construction, engineering, building or maintenance projects.
  • Good knowledge of quantity take-off, BQ preparation, tendering, cost estimation, progress claims, Variation Orders and Final Accounts.
  • Good understanding of contract administration and commercial management.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and contract documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Quantity Surveying software such as AutoCAD, CostX or other relevant software is an advantage.
  • Good negotiation, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with good numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Able to work independently and effectively with project teams and external parties.
  • Good time management and able to manage multiple projects or tasks within deadlines.
  • Willing to work at project sites and travel when required.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month

Work Location: In person
