Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Wardrobe Assistant is responsible for handling uniform/ costume or other related things to our MCs for their use using park operation. The Wardrobe Assistant Job purpose is to handle various administrative duties including (but not limited to) inventories, ordering, reporting, as well as handling dry cleaning requests, tailoring, embroidery work etc.

You will have the ability to communicate, interact and support your team members and superior in the department by exhibiting your best practices that aligned with the Merlin core values. You will also be required to exemplify your best behaviour and work well with other team members in the department/organization and to carry out assignments that are delegated by your superior in a timely manner.

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring uniforms and costumes are kept clean and in good repair.
  • Assist with maintaining a written inventory of all uniform and costumes.
  • Assist ground service assistant to sweep and maintain the cleanliness of walkway around the park during high attendance or short of manpower for both Theme Park and Water Park.
  • Notify wardrobe Team Lead or Supervisor when extensive repairs are required.
  • Maintain inventory levels by accurately tracking uniforms that are distributed and collected, and provide requisition information to operating managers based on assessed needs.
  • Is responsible for maintaining orderly and organize wardrobe issue files on all Model Citizens.
  • To alter and repair garments and linen according to department policies assist with issuing, receiving and maintaining employee uniforms.
  • Will perform laundry work and hands-on training as necessary, and also monitor with stock control and inventories of Wardrobe room supplies.
  • Issues wardrobe on an as needed basis to Model Citizens. Reports any safety hazards to assigned Team Lead or Supervisor.
  • Tag and/or mark garments as needed, also, responsible for repairing items such as drapes, sheers, bed dust ruffles, other linen, etc.
  • Completes appropriate paperwork for issuance of garments and records garments returned. Responsible for filing minor paperwork for Wardrobe Department.
  • Operate all machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Handles in-coming laundry from areas throughout the park, helping track garments through appropriate paperwork. Also responsible for receiving clean wardrobe from vendors and for processing related paperwork.
  • Keeps wardrobe and costume areas clean and all wardrobe items put away in appropriate place.
  • Looks for new ways to use space efficiently and speed the process of issuing and caring for wardrobe garments must be able to create acceptable service solutions.
  • Effectiveness of Wardrobe Card system is taking care of.
  • Making sure that all uniform is given in exchange with their Wardrobe card taken back from our MCs at end of their shift and returning back their Wardrobe Card.
  • Other Duties as assigned from time to time.

SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employees are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001).
  • Employees must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that the employees in their team are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it.
  • Employees must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly.
  • Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.

Background and Experience:

  • Candidate must possess at least SPM or min. 2 years’ experience in handling costumes or seamstress/tailoring.
  • Candidates who have seamstress and laundry experience will be an added advantage. Preferably candidate with relevant working experience in the same field.
  • For this department, we require skills in production design, costumes and special effects. Must also be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in organizing wardrobe / costumes / uniforms.
  • Proactive, responsible, team players and must be self-motivated & result oriented.
  • Must have seamstress skills, uniform rental skills and have details on accessories.
  • Good communication of both spoken and written English & Bahasa Malaysia is required.
  • You must be someone fun, energetic and REALLY good in entertaining.
  • Possess an interest to learn more and grow with one and only LEGOLAND in Asia.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
