Lab Technician (Temporary - 3 months contract)

Responsibilities:

The person will be responsible for the smooth daily operations of the science laboratory as per the operational manual.

• Keep the laboratory in order at all times.
• Prepare and keep documentation, i.e. prepare manual for all courses, maintain and record student attendance and items assigned for laboratory classes.
• Keep track of inventory and ensure timely requisition of items needed.
• Liaise with vendors for equipment maintenance and purchase
• Receive deliveries for the laboratory and contact Head of Program / lecturer to verify condition of items received whenever necessary.
• Maintain up-to-date records of items received.
• Update of Total Quality Management (TQM) processes.
• Prepare lab experiments.
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Degree in Science, or a related field.
• Relevant laboratory, workshop, or technical experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment, experimental procedures, and laboratory safety practices.
• Experience in laboratory management, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, documentation, and day-to-day laboratory operations, will be an added advantage.
• Good skills in equipment maintenance, inventory management, and documentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in a team.
• Fresh graduates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply.
