Who we are

RoboThink Malaysia runs robotics, coding and STEM programmes for school-age children through our own learning centres and partner schools. Our classes run on physical things: robotics kits, laptops, tablets, and consumable parts, and rooms full of children using all of it hard. When the equipment works, the lesson works.

The role

This is a hands-on generalist job across three areas: electronics repair, basic IT support, and keeping the centres and the store in order. Roughly about 16 hours a week, on a fixed schedule, with a clear list of what is waiting for you each time.

What you will do

1. Equipment Repairs

• Diagnose and repair DC motors, gearboxes, battery packs, sensors, servos and controller boards from our robotics kits — including soldering, rewiring and connector replacement
• Decide what is worth repairing and what should be replaced, and keep a simple log of both
• Build small jigs, test rigs and spares so recurring failures get faster to fix

2. Inventory and kits

• Run the inventory system for kits, spares, consumables and tools across all centres — counts, reorder points, and where everything actually is
• Audit and re-kit robotics sets after each course cycle so a complete kit is complete
• Raise purchase requests, check deliveries against orders
• Flag what is running out before a class is affected, not after

3. Laptops, tablets and network

• Keep an asset register of every laptop, tablet, charger and accessory — tagged, assigned and traceable
• Set up, image, update and reset devices between classes; install the software our courses need
• First-line support for staff and classroom IT: Wi-Fi, printers, projectors, accounts, logins
• Basic hardware repair and upgrades, and managing warranty or service-centre jobs

4. The centres

• Handle small repairs and replacements: lighting, fittings, door hardware, furniture, whiteboards, shelving
• Run a monthly preventive check at each centre instead of waiting for things to break
• Coordinate outside contractors for aircon servicing, licensed electrical work, plumbing and internet faults, and check the work before it is signed off
• Keep the basics safe: extension cords, extinguishers, first-aid kit, soldering ventilation, cable management in class rooms

5. Store and dispatch

• Keep the store organised, labelled and countable, with a sensible layout for fast picking
• Pack and dispatch kits and orders, and prepare equipment for camps, competitions and school roadshows — then check it back in afterwards
• Move equipment between centres and events

What we are looking for

Required:

• Hands-on experience and knowledge repairing electronic or electromechanical equipment, with confident soldering and multimeter use
• Comfortable doing routine electrical replacement work such as lights, fittings and power points, and clear about where to stop and call a licensed electrician
• Practical IT skills: Windows and Android setup, software installation, basic networking and troubleshooting
• Has run or maintained a stock, store or spares system, whether on software or a well-kept spreadsheet
• Own transport and a valid driving licence, for travel between centres
• Works from a list without supervision, and writes down what was done
• Able to work a fixed schedule on weekdays each week, including occasional weekends for events

Nice to have:

• SKM, certificate or diploma in electrical, electronics or mechatronics
• Experience with robotics kits, Arduino, or similar educational hardware

Pay: RM15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
