Workshop Operations Manager - Conveying/Fabrication Industry
- Continuous improvement of workshop processes, including work order planning and scheduling, to maximize productivity, resource utilization, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze inventory data to optimize stock control, improve turnaround time, and enhance overall workshop performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop the workshop team through effective mentoring, motivation, and skills enhancement to foster a strong customer service culture.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements to enhance workshop efficiency and workflow effectiveness.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate service agreements, and coordinate warranty claims with equipment providers.
- Engage with customers to understand service and product requirements, address concerns, and provide effective solutions to meet customer expectations.
- Compile and prepare monthly operational performance and safety reports for management review and decision-making.
- Oversee and ensure timely completion of repair and maintenance activities in accordance with quality standards and operational requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in workshop operations, maintenance, repair services in Conveying/Fabrication Industry.
- Knowledge of workshop operations, including work order management, repair processes, preventive maintenance and resource planning.
- Experience in inventory control, spare parts management and improving workshop turnaround time and operational efficiency.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop technicians and workshop teams.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with technicians, customers, suppliers, and management.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle service inquiries and resolve customer issues professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with workshop management systems or ERP systems is an added advantage.
