about the company
Our client is a leading engineering and design consultancy delivering high-availability infrastructure across Southeast Asia.
about the job
ETAP Modeling & Network Development: Build, maintain, and troubleshoot detailed ETAP power system models across High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Low Voltage (LV) distribution networks.
Core Power System Studies: Perform Load Flow Analysis under normal, maintenance, and contingency conditions; evaluate transformer sizing, loading, impedance, tap settings, and voltage regulation; complete cable sizing and electrical performance verifications.
Fault & Overstress Analysis: Conduct Short Circuit / Fault Level studies, verify equipment ratings, and identify overstressed components or excessive voltage drops.
Protection & Safety Engineering: Execute Protection Coordination & Selectivity Studies using ETAP STAR (including TCC development and protection setting recommendations); perform Arc Flash Hazard Analysis and propose mitigation strategies.
Dynamic & Power Quality Analysis: Perform Harmonic Analysis (THDi and THDv assessments) and Motor Starting / Acceleration Studies.
Operational Scenario Simulation: Analyze complex data centre operating modes, including utility failure, emergency generator operation, UPS operation/bypass, transformer failure, and system contingencies.
Reporting & Collaboration: Prepare comprehensive Power System Study Reports detailing assumptions, methodology, findings, and technical recommendations; coordinate with design teams, vendors, contractors, and commissioning specialists to validate equipment data.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, with a proven track record in power system studies.
Software Expertise: Deep, hands-on proficiency in ETAP is mandatory (including Load Flow, Short Circuit, STAR Protection Coordination, Arc Flash, Harmonics, and Motor Acceleration modules).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HV/MV/LV distribution systems, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, transformers, busways, and applicable IEC / IEEE standards.
Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to independently build models, challenge input data, analyze abnormal results, and translate study outcomes into practical engineering design decisions.
Communication: Strong technical report-writing skills and fluent communication abilities.
