Role Description This full-time, on-site Junior Automation Test Engineer role is based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. The individual in this role will support the design, development, and execution of automated test scripts, API Testing for software applications. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing requirements, preparing and maintaining test cases, executing functional and regression tests, and documenting test results. The role also involves collaborating with developers and other team members to identify defects, verify fixes, and help improve overall product quality. The Junior Automation Test Engineer will work under guidance from senior team members while building skills in test automation frameworks and best practices.

Qualifications

• Relevant diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Requirement:

• The Junior Automation Engineer will:
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web and API applications.
• Execute automated functional, regression and integration tests.
• Assist in converting manual test cases into automated test scripts.
• Maintain reusable automation components, test data and automation libraries.
• Analyse automated test execution results and identify potential application defects.
• Work with Test Engineers and Business Analysts to understand system requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Participate in requirement and test case reviews to identify suitable automation candidates.
• Perform API testing and automation using appropriate tools and frameworks.
• Assist with integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain test scripts using source-control repositories such as Git.
• Investigate automation failures and distinguish between application defects, test-data issues, environmental issues and automation-script failures.
• Prepare automation execution reports and maintain appropriate testing evidence.
• Record and manage defects using the organisation's defect-management tools.
• Support continuous improvement of the organisation's test automation framework and practices.
• Explore the use of AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve automation productivity and test coverage.
• Comply with applicable organisational quality procedures, security requirements and software testing standards.
