Job Description: Purchasing Executive (Mandarin Speaker)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and fluent Mandarin-speaking Purchasing Executive to manage our procurement activities. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing purchasing orders. Fluency in Mandarin is strictly required as you will be the primary point of contact for our key suppliers and manufacturers based in Mandarin-speaking regions (e.g., China/Taiwan).
Responsibilities & Duties
- Supplier Communication: Act as the primary liaison with Mandarin-speaking overseas and local suppliers to negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Sourcing & Procurement: Identify, evaluate, and source new vendors or alternative suppliers to secure cost-effective deals without compromising quality.
- Order Management: Issue Purchase Orders (PO), track shipment status, and coordinate with the Warehouse team (Store Executive) to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Price Negotiation & Cost Control: Analyze market trends, review supplier quotes, and negotiate contracts to achieve maximum cost savings for the company.
- Dispute Resolution: Handle vendor issues regarding price discrepancies, incorrect shipments, damaged goods, or delivery delays in a professional manner.
- Data Maintenance: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of purchasing prices, stock levels, supplier profiles, and procurement KPIs in the system.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Language Proficiency: Must be fully fluent in spoken and written Mandarin to communicate effectively with China/overseas suppliers. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia is also required.
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of working experience in procurement, purchasing, or sourcing. Experience handling international shipping/import customs is an added advantage.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience using ERP or purchasing software (e.g., SAP, AutoCount, SQL).
- Attributes: Strong negotiation skills, excellent analytical thinking, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
