Electrical Project Managers (Data Centre Construction) - PMC - JB
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Execution & Engineering Oversight
- System Delivery: Oversee the installation of 132kV/33kV sub-stations, MV/LV switchgear, step-down transformers, UPS systems (2N/N+1), backup diesel generators, busduct tracks, and specialized clean earthing systems.
- Design Review: Evaluate Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), shop drawings, containment layouts, and engineering calculations to resolve technical clashes before construction begins.
- Cooling Integration: Coordinate power distribution modifications required for high-density IT racks, including transition paths from traditional air cooling to liquid/direct-to-chip cooling architectures.
2. Project Planning & Procurement
- Schedule Management: Develop and manage detailed electrical work packages, tracking milestones via MS Project or Primavera P6 to hit strict Ready-for-Service (RFS) deadlines.
- Long-Lead Tracking: Monitor the manufacturing and delivery of long-lead equipment (e.g., UPS, generators, transformers) to prevent critical path site delays.
- Subcontractor Management: Supervise electrical subcontractors, evaluate progress claims, and manage variation orders (VOs) alongside the commercial team.
3. Regulatory Compliance, Quality & Safety
- Utility Coordination: Liaise directly with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) for grid interconnection, testing approvals, and energization clearance.
- Statutory Submissions: Work closely with the appointed ST-certified Competent Electrical Engineer to secure legal sign-offs, including Form G and Form H approvals.
- Site Safety: Enforce strict Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) systems, High Voltage testing permits, and risk assessment strategies (RAMS) in compliance with CIDB and DOSH guidelines.
