Chief Cook (Vegetarian)

Job Summary

You will lead the preparation and creation of vegetarian dishes, manage kitchen operations, and collaborate with restaurant managers to deliver high-quality cuisine and efficient service.

Responsibilities

Create new vegetarian dishes and presentations for promotions and future menus

Control food costs and perform menu costing to optimize profitability

Collaborate closely with restaurant managers to align kitchen operations with business goals

Cook and prepare all types of vegetarian food according to menu specifications

Inspect goods received from stores or suppliers to ensure quality and accuracy

Supervise kitchen helpers and cooks to maintain smooth kitchen workflow

Ensure that spoiled or damaged serving utensils are identified and removed from use

Train cooks to follow established procedures and maintain food safety standards

Maintain a dry and clean kitchen environment to comply with hygiene standards

Work efficiently and accurately during busy periods to meet service demands

Perform any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the manager

Required competencies and certifications

Minimum 3 years of experience in vegetarian cuisine

Effective communication skills to coordinate tasks and responsibilities

Leadership skills to manage and train kitchen staff

Strong attention to detail to ensure quality and safety standards

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Being a vegetarian is preferred to align with the cuisine focus
