Position: Research Assistant x2
Work Location: Novena/Kent Ridge (Rotate)
Contract: 12 Month (Govt, Non-renewable)

About the Role

The Research Assistants will also support survey administration, data collection and management, research coordination, and other day-to-day activities required for the timely implementation of the study.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct outreach and recruitment activities in community settings, recreation centres, dormitories and other locations frequented by migrant workers.

• Recruit eligible participants and support their enrolment into the study.

• Maintain regular communication and engagement with study participants throughout the study period.

• Assist with participant scheduling, follow-up and retention activities.

• Support data collection activities, including administering surveys and facilitating interviews or focus group discussions where required.

• Provide language support and cultural insights to facilitate effective engagement with migrant worker communities.

• Assist with data management, documentation and other research administration.

• Support day-to-day study operations and other research-related activities as assigned.

• Work closely with the research team and relevant community partners to ensure smooth and timely implementation of study activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Communications, or a related field.

• Strong interest in migrant worker issues, public health, community engagement or research involving vulnerable populations.

• Experience working with community organisations, migrant worker communities, non-profit organisations or outreach programmes is advantageous.

• Experience conducting surveys, interviews, focus group discussions or other community-based research activities is desirable.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.

• Able to work independently, take initiative and adapt to changing project needs.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends where necessary, to accommodate participants' schedules.

Preferred Attributes

• Familiarity with the migrant worker landscape in Singapore.

• Existing networks or experience engaging migrant worker communities.

• Ability to build trust and rapport with participants from diverse cultural backgrounds.

• Strong organisational, coordination and record-keeping skills.

• Comfortable working in community settings and interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
