About the Team

ContactSG is a centralized contacts management layer that powers government-to-citizen

communications across agencies. We enable agencies to manage, segment, and

deduplicate contact data at scale, ensuring citizens receive relevant and timely

communications.

We are seeking a talented and motivated (Mid-level) Software Engineer to join our dynamic

development team. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our

software products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Be part of a cross-functional development team that values quality, automation and user

experience of the software we deliver. You will also contribute to other ECMP products such

as CrowdTask SG, SGTranslateTogether, FileSG, and BookingSG.

What to expect:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications: Write clean, scalable, and

efficient code to create software solutions that meet user needs.

• Build scalable contact data pipelines: Develop robust data ingestion, deduplication,

and segmentation logic for contact management at scale.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers,

designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality citizen-centric products.

• Participate in code reviews: Ensure code quality and share knowledge with team

members to improve overall team performance.

• Debug and troubleshoot issues: Identify and resolve software defects and

performance issues.

• Implement automated testing and continuous integration: Ensure the reliability

and stability of the software through automated tests and CI/CD pipelines. No

dedicated QE on the team, so you own quality end-to-end.

• Documentation: Create and document technical designs that are aligned with

architectural guidelines.

• Integrate with downstream platforms: Connect ContactSG with communication

channels (email, SMS, etc.) used by agencies.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends: Continuously learn and apply new

technologies and best practices to improve our products.

• Act as a technical lead when required: Drive technical direction, make architectural

decisions, and ensure alignment with best practices and business goals.

Experiences we look out for:

• At least 5 years of relevant working experience in software development, preferably

in full stack web development.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
• Possess a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data

structures, algorithms, programming skills, and software design principles and

patterns.

• Proficient in full stack development with hands-on experience using technologies

such as React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud services, with added advantage for experience in AWS

services.

• Demonstrated strong ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in a

collaborative environment.

• Experience with data lakes and large-scale data processing is a plus.
• Familiarity with record matching and deduplication techniques is a plus.
• Background in CRM, contact management, or customer data platforms is a plus.
• Experience with Kotlin is a plus (to support legacy codebases).
