Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Finance Executive to manage and support the day-to-day finance operations of the school, reporting to the Finance Manager.
The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial records, effective cash flow management, proper billing and collection of student fees, payroll processing, and compliance with relevant financial and statutory requirements. The role works closely with internal departments, students, parents, vendors and external parties to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain accurate and timely daily bookkeeping and accounting records.
• Perform regular bank and account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage student fee invoicing, fee reconciliation and follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Assist students and parents with fee-related enquiries and payment matters.
• Monitor and manage student fee outstandings and support timely collection of receivables.
• Ensure invoicing procedures are carried out accurately and within the required timelines.
• Prepare and process payments and cash disbursements in accordance with approved procedures and authorisation.
• Upload and record payments accurately in the accounting system based on approved disbursements.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records and supporting documents.
• Assist with audit, tax and other statutory requirements by preparing relevant supporting documents.
• Ensure finance processes comply with Company policies, accounting standards and applicable
Malaysian statutory requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, errors or unusual transactions and escalate matters to the Finance Manager where appropriate.
• Support the Finance Manager in ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting and other finance-related projects.
Qualifications & Experience
• Diploma, Degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• Experience in bookkeeping, bank reconciliation, accounts receivable, invoicing and payment processing.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero or similar systems is an advantage.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and numerical and accounting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of accountability and confidentiality.
