We're Hiring: Software Developer | Singapore

Are you passionate about building high-quality software using Agile methodologies and modern engineering practices? We are looking for talented Software Developers to join our team in Singapore and contribute to the development of scalable, secure, and high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software solutions using Agile methodologies (Scrum or equivalent).
  • Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Quality Engineers, and Testers on user story elaboration, test automation, and defect resolution.
  • Work with DevOps teams to establish Continuous Integration, automated build, testing, and release pipelines.
  • Convert acceptance criteria into automated unit tests.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance unit tests to meet code coverage and quality gate requirements.
  • Provide effort estimates for user stories and technical tasks.
  • Support production incidents and participate in after-hours support rotation when required.
  • Champion engineering best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Pair Programming, Secure Coding, and Refactoring.
  • Participate in application deployment and release activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Computer Studies, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Software Developer within the relevant technology platform.
  • Experience working on at least one project using Scrum or an equivalent Agile development framework.
  • Experience in:
  • Requirements gathering and analysis
  • Software design using Design Patterns
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Pair Programming
  • Secure Coding Practices

Mandatory Requirement

Technical Competency Assessment for Developers, based on the GovTech Software Engineer Basic Coding Proficiency Test, is mandatory for all applicants.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate strong coding fundamentals and problem-solving capabilities through this assessment.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages such as:
  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • HTML5
  • CSS
  • Python
  • C#
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as:
  • JUnit
  • xUnit
  • NUnit or equivalent
  • Understanding of Agile Test Automation Pyramid and test automation best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues.
  • Knowledge of high-availability, secure, and high-performance enterprise applications.
  • Exposure to cloud and hybrid cloud environments is advantageous.

Preferred Certifications

The following certifications are highly desirable:

  • Certified Scrum Developer (CSD)
  • Microsoft Azure Developer Associate / Expert or equivalent cloud certifications
  • Certified Software Testing Professional (CSTP)
  • Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) or equivalent
