Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment firm, is partnering with an organisation in the Industrial sector to hire a General Ledger (GL) Accountant. This opportunity is based in Malaysia.

Position Overview

Support the finance function through effective financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management, and process improvement initiatives. Contribute to the organisation’s operational efficiency and financial integrity by delivering accurate financial information and supporting key business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform journals and update monthly financial reports/analysis.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules/reconciliations.
• Manage the Accounting Fixed Asset Register.
• Prepare local tax compliance.
• Develop initiatives to improve processes and identify efficiencies.
• Cashflow management - forecasting.
• Respond to audit and tax queries.
• Ensure neat and organised filing of all finance/legal related documentation.
• Work closely with other functional team such as Commercial, Business Development, and Project Teams to achieve task objectives.
• Ad hoc support to Finance team that may be assigned from time to time.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Experience working in an MNC environment is highly desirable.

Technical / Functional Expertise

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• High computer literacy.
• Good knowledge of GST and VAT.
• Experience in financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset management, tax compliance, and cash flow forecasting.
