You will lead the development and operation of digital products that help officers create, discover and consume information more effectively. Working closely with users, stakeholders and engineering teams, you will drive product strategy, delivery and operations while helping to build next-generation AI-powered search and knowledge solutions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving user problems, building products, working with technology teams, and turning ideas into capabilities used at scale.

What You Will Be Working On

The job-holder will be responsible for product development, product operations and technical delivery for identified systems and solutions, which include the following:

Product Development and Operations

• Define product vision, strategy and roadmaps aligned with organisational goals and user needs.
• Engage stakeholders to understand pain points, gather requirements and identify opportunities.
• Translate business needs into product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritise product backlogs and drive delivery of enhancements and new features.
• Lead product discovery, testing, rollout and continuous improvement.
• Develop business cases and management papers to secure support and resources for product initiatives.
• Use data, user feedback and analytics to guide product decisions and measure success.
• Own the end-to-end health, adoption and user experience of the product.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for user issues, enhancement requests and operational matters.
• Troubleshoot issues with users and work with engineering teams to resolve problems.
• Coordinate releases, change management, communications and training activities.
• Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage risks, service levels, vendor performance and contractual matters where required.
  
  Technical Delivery
  
  
• Be able to lead delivery with engineering teams (in-house and outsourced).
• Provide technical direction and product leadership for development.
• Work closely with developers to review technical approaches and make informed product trade-offs.
• Guide the design and integration of product with enterprise applications, APIs and knowledge platforms.
• Drive initiatives involving enterprise search, content discovery, generative AI and knowledge retrieval.
• Prototype ideas, validate solutions and unblock development teams when required.
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology/Computer Science/Engineering, Business, or relevant disciplines
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in product management, product development, or related roles
• Demonstrated experience delivering successful digital products or services.
• Strong understanding of software and application development lifecycles.
• Ability to work effectively with developers and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing proposals, management papers or business cases.
• Passion for user experience, emerging technologies and continuous learning.
• Experience building products using JavaScript, TypeScript, SharePoint Framework (SPFx) or similar application frameworks would be advantageous.
• Experience with enterprise search, AI-powered applications, vector search, RAG or generative AI solutions would be advantageous.
  
  
• All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
