Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Chemical Analysis Laboratory Engineer provides chemical and materials analysis support for semiconductor manufacturing, contamination control, process monitoring, material qualification, and failure/excursion investigations.


The role involves performing laboratory analysis, operating and maintaining analytical instruments, interpreting data, and supporting engineering and manufacturing teams. The engineer will also participate in analytical method improvement, troubleshooting, and laboratory continuous improvement activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and materials analysis, including trace-level contamination analysis of chemicals, ultrapure water, gases, and environmental samples.
  • Support material qualification, process monitoring, contamination control, and production excursion/failure investigations.
  • Prepare samples and perform analysis using laboratory techniques and analytical instruments such as ICP-MS, VPD, Ion Chromatography (IC), GC-MS, auto-titrator, particle counter, and other relevant equipment.
  • Perform routine instrument checks, calibration, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Review and interpret analytical results to identify trends, abnormalities, and potential contamination issues.
  • Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and documentation.
  • Support analytical method development, validation, optimization, and laboratory process improvements.
  • Participate in laboratory automation, digitalization, productivity, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Follow laboratory safety, chemical handling, waste disposal, quality, and environmental requirements, including applicable ISO, SEMI, and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with Process, Process Integration, Facilities, Quality, Manufacturing, and other engineering teams to provide timely analytical support.
  • Support root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving activities as required.


Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry, laboratory techniques, and chemical handling.
  • Strong interest in analytical instrumentation and semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to safety, quality, and data accuracy.
  • Laboratory, research, internship, or semiconductor experience is an advantage.
