Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Managed Workplace Engineer (MWS) with strong hands-on expertise in End User Computing (EUC), Modern Workplace Management, IT Infrastructure Support and Management Information Systems (MIS).

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimising the enterprise workplace environment, including endpoint management, modern provisioning, security, business application delivery and workplace infrastructure.

The role will focus on maintaining secure, reliable and efficient workplace services while supporting user productivity, operational performance and compliance across the organisation.

Key ResponsibilitiesModern Workplace & Endpoint Management

  • Design, implement and maintain endpoint management infrastructure using Microsoft Intune, MECM/SCCM and Jamf across Windows, macOS and mobile devices.
  • Manage device onboarding, provisioning, imaging and enterprise application deployment.
  • Manage operating system patching and update cycles across enterprise endpoints.
  • Implement and support Windows Autopilot and Apple Business Manager.
  • Maintain modern workplace standards to ensure optimal device performance, security and user experience.
  • Support endpoint configuration, compliance policies and device lifecycle management.

Modern Workplace Services & MIS Reporting

  • Oversee workplace IT assets, operational metrics and system performance dashboards.
  • Prepare and present regular MIS / Modern Workplace Services reports covering patch compliance, endpoint security posture, asset lifecycle management and service desk SLAs.
  • Monitor workplace service performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Automate inventory tracking, software licence utilisation and hardware refresh activities across regional offices.
  • Maintain accurate workplace asset and operational records.

Endpoint Security & Compliance

  • Administer endpoint security policies using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
  • Manage endpoint encryption technologies including BitLocker and FileVault.
  • Configure and manage Endpoint Privilege Management.
  • Implement and support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Conditional Access policies for enterprise endpoints.
  • Monitor endpoint vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation activities.
  • Participate in security incident investigations and support remediation activities.
  • Ensure endpoint environments comply with relevant security and organisational policies.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure & Cloud Workspace

  • Support and administer Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix or VMware Horizon environments.
  • Manage session hosts and remote desktop infrastructure.
  • Support user profile management using FSLogix.
  • Manage application virtualisation and application delivery.
  • Monitor and optimise virtual desktop performance for remote and hybrid users.
  • Troubleshoot VDI connectivity, performance and application issues.

IT Automation & Process Optimisation

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Python or CLI-based tools.
  • Automate endpoint configuration, routine operational checks and software deployment activities.
  • Improve endpoint administration processes through automation.
  • Support automation of Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) processes in collaboration with Identity Management teams.
  • Automate workstation provisioning and deprovisioning where appropriate.

Incident Management & Service Desk Escalations

  • Act as an L2/L3 escalation point for complex Modern Workplace, endpoint, application and connectivity incidents.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex workplace technology issues.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring workplace incidents and service disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for L1 support teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to support teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of workplace support processes.

Vendor & Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Manage relationships with workplace technology vendors, OEM hardware providers, software vendors and procurement partners.
  • Coordinate hardware provisioning and standard device builds.
  • Manage hardware warranties, repairs and replacement activities.
  • Support hardware refresh programmes and asset lifecycle planning.
  • Ensure secure disposal and e-waste management processes are followed.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 to 8+ years of relevant experience in IT Infrastructure, Managed Workplace, Modern Workplace or Enterprise EUC environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, MECM/SCCM, Windows Autopilot and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
  • Good experience with enterprise endpoint management across Windows and macOS environments.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint security, compliance and device management.
  • Experience with MIS reporting, IT asset management and ITSM platforms.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly PowerShell.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy and enterprise identity and access management.
  • Experience supporting L2/L3 workplace incidents and performing Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of ITIL processes and service management practices.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
  • Willing to work in Kuala Lumpur.

Preferred Certifications

Relevant industry certifications are highly preferred, including:

  • Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102)
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Other relevant Microsoft, Modern Workplace, EUC or IT infrastructure certifications.
