Responsibilities

Job Purpose


The jobholder will support the Regional Rewards and Performance team in delivering compensation, benefits and performance management programmes across Malaysia and the Group.


The role will be responsible for preparing and analysing rewards data, supporting compensation benchmarking and annual review exercises, maintaining accurate management information, and coordinating with HR stakeholders. The jobholder will also assist in research, reporting, budgeting and the implementation of rewards initiatives.


This role provides strong exposure to regional rewards practices, workforce analytics and strategic HR projects.


Key Responsibilities

1. Rewards Analytics and Market Benchmarking

  • Collect, validate and analyse compensation and benefits data from internal and external sources.
  • Support participation in salary and benefits surveys, including data preparation, submission and results analysis.
  • Prepare market benchmarking reports and identify relevant compensation trends.
  • Assist in analysing salary structures, pay positioning and internal equity.
  • Translate rewards data into clear insights, summaries and presentation materials for management review.

2. Annual and Mid-Year Review

  • Support the coordination of annual and mid-year salary and performance review exercises.
  • Consolidate recommendations and data submissions from HR teams across Malaysia and the region.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare analytical reports, costing summaries and management presentation materials.
  • Work with relevant HR and Finance stakeholders to support accurate reporting and implementation.

3. Compensation and Benefits Support

  • Assist in reviewing compensation and benefits programmes against market practices.
  • Conduct research on emerging rewards practices, employee benefits and regulatory developments.
  • Maintain up-to-date compensation, benefits and employee-related information.
  • Support the preparation and communication of new or revised rewards programmes.
  • Respond to routine rewards-related enquiries and escalate policy-related matters when necessary.

4. Data Intelligence and Reporting

  • Maintain rewards data covering base salary, variable pay, benefits and related employee information.
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports to support business and management decision-making.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends, anomalies and potential areas for further review.
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based models, trackers and dashboards.
  • Support continuous improvement and automation of rewards reporting processes.

5. Projects and Budgeting

  • Support regional rewards projects and broader HR initiatives.
  • Conduct research, data analysis and preliminary feasibility assessments.
  • Assist in project costing, budgeting, tracking and documentation.
  • Coordinate project activities and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.

6. Risk, Governance and Compliance

  • Follow established rewards policies, procedures and approval requirements.
  • Support reviews of policies and procedures relating to compensation and benefits.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and governance purposes.
  • Handle employee and compensation information with strict confidentiality.
  • Escalate potential data, compliance or operational risks to the appropriate team member.

7. Stakeholder Support

  • Work closely with HR Business Partners, HR teams, Finance and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of rewards initiatives across the business.
  • Prepare clear reports, presentations and communication materials.
  • Respond to stakeholders professionally and within agreed timelines.

8. Other Responsibilities

  • Undertake other relevant responsibilities assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification is not required.


Relevant Experience

  • Approximately two to four years of relevant experience in rewards, HR analytics, compensation and benefits, finance, consulting or a related analytical function.
  • Experience within financial services, a large corporate environment or consulting would be advantageous.


Technical and Functional Skills

  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge, including pivot tables, lookup functions, logical and statistical formulas, data validation, data cleaning and analysis of large datasets.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate findings into clear, practical insights.
  • Good Microsoft PowerPoint skills, including the ability to prepare management-level presentations and visualise data effectively.
  • Basic understanding of compensation, benefits, salary benchmarking or HR analytics would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HR systems, Power BI or other reporting tools would be an added advantage.
  • Strong data accuracy and process orientation.
