Job Purpose
To deliver exceptional food and beverage experiences by providing prompt, friendly, and personalized service that exceeds guest expectations. The F&B Service Assistant is responsible for engaging with guests, accurately processing orders, serving food and beverages efficiently, handling billing and cash transactions, promoting menu offerings through upselling, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. The role ensures compliance with hotel policies and service standards while contributing to guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and revenue growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome and seat guests when the Host/Hostess is unavailable.
- Assist guests in selecting food and beverage items from the menu.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Attend to guests' requests promptly and professionally to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
- Promote menu items, special promotions, and hotel facilities to guests where appropriate.
- Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
- Prepare all necessary condiments, cutlery, and accompaniments for service.
- Obtain, prepare, and maintain all equipment required for daily service operations.
- Set up and clear tables before, during, and after service periods.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards are maintained in dining and service areas at all times.
- Replenish supplies, table settings, and service stations as required.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and proper storage of dining equipment, utensils, and glassware.
- Work closely with kitchen and service team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations at all times.
- Refer any matters relating to hotel policies, procedures, or guest complaints to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Participate in training sessions and continuously improve product knowledge and service skills.
- Be cautions of all operating equipment seeing that is properly use and make sure to keep breakage level as low as possible.
- To have a very good knowledge of all items on the menu and beverage list.
- Replenish clean items to their respective dry and wet station.
- Remove and bring soiled linen to the appropriate area or Housekeeping.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and escalate issues to the Supervisor when necessary.
- Monitor stock levels of service items and inform the Supervisor of any shortages.
- Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standard in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support team members during peak periods to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Assist in receiving and storing food, beverage, and operating supplies when required.
- Build positive relationships with guests to encourage repeat visits and customer satisfaction.
- Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the Supervisor immediately.
- Handle guest payments and cashiering transactions accurately in accordance with hotel procedures.
- Maintain and reconcile cash floats, cash collections, and POS transactions at the end of each shift.
- Ensure all bills, payments, refunds, and discounts are correctly processed and recorded.
- Report any cash discrepancies or irregularities immediately to the supervisor.
- Safeguard cash and financial records while complying with hotel financial policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- SPM, Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Food & Beverage, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Good command of spoken and written English; additional languages are an added advantage.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
