As part of its New Business Underwriting team, you will play a key role in supporting underwriting operations and ensuring customers receive timely and accurate policy decisions. Your new role

This is an Underwriting Assistant position, ideal for individuals with experience in insurance operations, underwriting support, or new business administration. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient processing of insurance applications while delivering excellent support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing guaranteed issuance and standard applications for Life, Accident & Health, and Long-Term Care products.
• Updating underwriting requirements, decisions, and case information accurately within internal systems.
• Monitoring outstanding requirements and following up on pending cases within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
• Providing underwriting support and guidance to agents, financial representatives, business development managers, and bancassurance partners.
• Managing enquiries through email, telephone, and digital servicing platforms.
• Ensuring all underwriting activities comply with internal guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Identifying operational risks and escalating potential concerns where necessary.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing ideas to enhance operational efficiency.
• Collaborating with various internal stakeholders to ensure smooth case progression and service delivery.

What you'll need to succeed

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Banking, Finance, Insurance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience within the insurance industry.
• Experience in New Business Operations, Underwriting Support, Policy Administration, or Insurance Operations will be an added advantage.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• A positive, team-oriented attitude with willingness to learn and adapt.
• High integrity, accountability, and ownership of work responsibilities.
