Role Purpose

To support simulation-based teaching and learning activities in the Dental Simulation Laboratory and Dental Technique Laboratory by assisting in laboratory preparation, session coordination, equipment readiness, digital learning support, and practical training activities, while ensuring a safe, organised, and effective learning environment for students.

Job Responsibilities

• Simulation Session Support
• Responsible for the preparation, setup, and turnover of simulation laboratories for pre-clinical teaching sessions.
• Support faculty during simulation exercises and provide technical assistance to students.
• Provide operational support to students under faculty supervision.
• Support digital simulation systems and learning technologies.
• Assist in the setup and coordination of practical assessments (e.g., OSCEs, competency exams).
• Lab Readiness & Operations
• Ensure all simulation units, instruments, and materials are prepared before each session.
• Perform basic operational checks on equipment and report any faults to the Dental Service Technician.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness of the Dental Simulation Laboratory (DSL) and Dental Technique Laboratory (DTL) before and after sessions.
• Coordination of Materials
• Liaise with store personnel to ensure required instruments, materials, and consumables are available.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of materials for teaching sessions.
• Report shortages or issues with stock supplies in a timely manner.
• Safety and Infection Control
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards within the simulation laboratory and technique laboratory.
• Monitor student adherence to lab rules and proper procedures.
• Support safe handling and disposal of consumables, materials and chemical waste.
• Communication & Support
• Work closely with academic and non-academic staff to support teaching activities.
• Communicate session requirements, issues, and operational needs clearly and promptly.
• General Support
• Support departmental activities and ad hoc tasks as required.

Job Requirement

• Diploma in Dental Hygiene, Dental Technology, or a related field; candidates with dental knowledge will have an added advantage.
• Experience in dental simulation laboratories, dental laboratories, or related clinical/teaching support environments.
• Basic understanding of dental instruments, materials, procedures, simulation equipment, infection control, and laboratory safety practices.
• Familiarity with digital dentistry technologies, simulation systems, OpenDent System, or related educational technologies would be an added advantage.
• Good organisational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to use digital systems related to laboratory or teaching support.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
