Moulding Process Engineer
Job Responsibilities
Serve as the engineering resource for molding operations, ensuring process standardisation and operational effectiveness.
Set up and optimise processes for new tooling, moulding machines and automated loading equipment.
Participate in early product and tooling design reviews, including tooling modifications, to ensure process robustness, product quality and required process capability.
Provide engineering support to address production and quality issues, ensuring that problems are promptly contained, investigated and resolved.
Drive the optimisation of existing molding processes to improve quality, productivity and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with relevant departments to coordinate process- and equipment-maintenance activities.
Train and guide Process Technicians and Toolmakers to achieve their performance objectives and support organisational requirements.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
At least three years of experience in high-precision injection molding.
Hands-on experience in molding-process setup, troubleshooting and optimisation.
Able to operate and perform process setup on molding machines.
Knowledge of tooling-fabrication techniques will be an added advantage.
Good analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Assembly Process Engineer
Job Responsibilities
Take full ownership of assigned assembly processes and ensure their stability, capability and compliance.
Drive continuous process improvement, cost-reduction and design-improvement initiatives to achieve reliable and efficient manufacturing processes.
Prepare and maintain product-structure and routing data in the MFG/PRO system.
Conduct root-cause investigations into process abnormalities, production issues and customer complaints, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Train Assembly Technicians and Supervisors on assembly processes, operating requirements and process controls.
Review tooling drawings and recommend changes arising from process or design improvements.
Prepare, maintain and control process documentation, including Work Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Control Plans and process-verification records, in accordance with ISO requirements.
Conduct machine buy-off activities and set up new assembly lines for production.
Implement appropriate process-control measures for assembly operations.
Initiate the localisation of components and support Purchasing in vendor development.
Coordinate product transfers from other manufacturing sites as part of cost-reduction or capacity programmes.
Communicate relevant process and design changes to affected departments and stakeholders.
Maintain proper document control for assembly machines and related processes.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Tool and Die Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
At least three years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
Familiar with manufacturing methods, assembly processes and production controls.
Good knowledge of pneumatic equipment used in automated assembly processes.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
