Civil Engineer – Oil & Gas Projects
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a one-year contract basis. Our company undertakes civil engineering works for various oil and gas projects, including projects at PETRONAS facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising civil construction activities to ensure that all work is completed safely and according to approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and schedules.
Civil Engineering Job Scope
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise civil construction activities at project sites.
- Conduct site surveys, inspections, measurements, and technical assessments.
- Supervise earthworks, excavation, backfilling, soil compaction, and site preparation.
- Supervise reinforced concrete works, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete pouring, and curing.
- Coordinate the construction of foundations, equipment bases, pipe supports, concrete slabs, and bund walls.
- Supervise roadworks, pavement works, drainage systems, culverts, and sewerage works.
- Monitor piling works and foundation construction, where applicable.
- Review civil drawings, construction details, specifications, and method statements.
- Check construction materials and ensure they comply with approved specifications.
- Coordinate civil work with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, surveyors, and suppliers.
- Monitor daily site progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and construction schedules.
- Ensure all civil work follows approved drawings, project requirements, and quality standards.
- Identify civil construction issues and recommend suitable corrective actions.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports, inspection records, and site documentation.
- Conduct joint inspections and verify completed work before submission to the client.
- Prepare quantity estimates and verify contractors’ progress claims when required.
- Prepare punch lists and monitor the completion of outstanding civil work.
- Assist with testing, project handover, and preparation of as-built documentation.
- Ensure all site activities comply with safety procedures and oil and gas industry requirements.
- Perform other civil engineering duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Minimum Dploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum five years of relevant working experience in civil engineering or construction.
- Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial, infrastructure, or construction projects is preferred.
- Experience working at PETRONAS facilities or on PETRONAS-related projects is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, inspections, and quality requirements.
- Able to read and understand civil construction drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant civil engineering software.
- Good communication, documentation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Willing to travel, work outstation, and attend project sites when required.
- Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
