About the role
The Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure, security, communication, and low-voltage systems projects. The role is accountable for project scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, stakeholder coordination, testing and commissioning, and successful handover in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
• Lead projects from award and kick-off through design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Develop project execution plans, programmes, manpower plans, budgets, risk registers, and resource schedules.
• Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, responsibilities, and reporting requirements.
• Monitor progress against the approved programme and take timely corrective action when required.
Client & Stakeholder Management
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Lead project meetings, progress reviews, technical discussions, and coordination sessions.
• Clarify customer requirements, manage expectations, and resolve commercial or operational issues professionally.
• Identify variation works, additional requirements, and potential business opportunities arising during project delivery.
Technical & System Coordination
• Oversee the implementation and integration of ELV and ICT systems, including CCTV, access control, structured cabling, PA and communication systems, video analytics, car park systems, fire alarm interfaces, networks, and server infrastructure.
• Review technical submissions, drawings, method statements, product selections, system schematics, and material approvals.
• Coordinate with Presales, Engineering, Procurement, and site teams to ensure that solutions are practical, compliant, and deliverable.
• Lead technical issue resolution and oversee testing, commissioning, system validation, and defect rectification.
Commercial, Cost & Contract Management
• Manage project budgets, cost forecasts, procurement commitments, subcontractor claims, progress claims, and project profitability.
• Review contract requirements and ensure timely submission of notices, variations, extension-of-time requests, and supporting records where applicable.
• Control project costs and recommend measures to prevent budget overrun and margin erosion.
• Ensure complete and accurate documentation for billing, claims, project close-out, and final account matters.
Manpower Planning & Team Leadership
• Plan and forecast manpower requirements based on project schedules and workloads.
• Allocate internal employees and subcontractors effectively across projects.
• Monitor manpower utilisation and costs to ensure projects are adequately staffed and remain within budget.
• Lead and guide Project Engineers, site supervisors, installers, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
• Allocate responsibilities, monitor individual performance, and provide timely coaching and support.
