Job Summary
The Maintenance Assistant will perform routine building maintenance to ensure safe, fully operational facilities. Tasks include repairing plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning, and supervising contractors.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repair on building structures, equipment, and surroundings to maintain operational safety and functionality
Repair and maintain plumbing systems to ensure proper water flow and prevent leaks
Repair and maintain electrical systems to ensure safe and reliable power supply
Carry out general carpentry tasks to maintain and restore building fixtures and fittings
Perform painting works to preserve and enhance building surfaces
Conduct regular cleaning and upkeep of building exteriors and equipment to maintain cleanliness and appearance
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime and hazards
Coordinate and supervise outside contractors to ensure quality and timely completion of maintenance tasks
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities for tracking and compliance purposes
Required competencies and certifications
Core Trade Certificate or equivalent
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or related field
Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
General carpentry and painting skills
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team
