Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Production Engineer (Steel Drum Manufacturing) at PGEO Edible Oils Sdn Bhd (A Member of Wilmar International Group of Companies) in Pasir Gudang.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 1-3 years of experience in production or manufacturing engineering.
- Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
- Experience in steel, metal fabrication, packaging or similar manufacturing industries will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of production processes, process control and problem-solving techniques.
- Familiarity with RCA, CAPA, GMP, SPC and continuous improvement is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Able to work closely with production operators, supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on, proactive and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and monitor daily production activities to achieve production, quality and delivery targets.
- Monitor production processes across decoiling, body cutting, internal ends and drum forming lines.
- Ensure smooth operation of production lines and troubleshoot production issues, breakdowns and delays.
- Monitor raw material usage, issuance and availability for production.
- Monitor production output, process performance and product quality.
- Investigate production and quality issues and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
- Support the implementation of CAPA, MOC and DCN for process, equipment and SOP changes.
- Work with the Quality team to address customer complaints, product defects and audit findings.
- Monitor production manpower and coordinate with supervisors on workforce requirements and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, environmental and company requirements.
- Support GMP, internal, certification and customer audits and follow up on corrective actions.
- Prepare production reports and monitor key production and quality KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality and process control.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the superior.
