About the Role

You will be responsible for driving AML enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives from planning through to implementation. You will work closely with Group teams, local business units, Technology, Operations, consultants and other stakeholders to ensure initiatives stay on track and deliver measurable outcomes.

The role is particularly suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, bringing structure to ambiguity and getting things done, rather than simply coordinating meetings and producing reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and drive AML continuous improvement and enhancement initiatives from idea through to implementation.
• Translate business requirements, audit observations, regulatory expectations and operational issues into clear project plans and actionable deliverables.
• Manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and stakeholder actions.
• Work closely with Group, local business units, Technology, Operations, consultants and data teams to drive delivery.
• Identify blockers and dependencies early, work with stakeholders to resolve them and escalate issues where required.
• Prepare project updates, governance papers, issue logs, action trackers and decision papers for senior stakeholders.
• Support improvements across areas such as Customer Risk Assessment, Name Screening, Transaction Monitoring, MI & Reporting and broader Financial Crime controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency and control effectiveness through process, data and technology enhancements.
• Leverage Microsoft Copilot and other digital tools to support analysis, documentation, planning and communication.
• Review and challenge outputs from data analysis, consultants and AI-enabled tools, applying sound judgement before making recommendations.
• Ensure implemented improvements are properly documented, sustainable and aligned with governance, assurance and audit requirements.

Requirements

• Strong project management / project delivery experience, ideally within financial services, banking, insurance or other regulated environments.
• Some practical experience or exposure to AML / Financial Crime / Compliance is required.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across business, operational, technology and senior stakeholder groups.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong spoken and written English.
• Highly articulate and confident in presenting, facilitating discussions and communicating complex matters clearly.
• Strong execution mindset with the ability to take ownership and drive actions through to completion.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and able to bring structure to complex or unclear requirements.
• Strong organisational skills with experience in progress tracking, issue management, risk management and escalation.
• Proactive, self-driven and comfortable working with limited direction.
• Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI/digital productivity tools for analysis, drafting, planning or communication.
• Candidates with broader Financial Crime experience beyond AML will also be considered.

You do not need to be a deep technical AML specialist. However, you should have sufficient AML/Financial Crime knowledge to understand the subject matter, engage effectively with SMEs and stakeholders, and drive improvement initiatives through to delivery.
